The
Lancaster Campaign is a volunteer driven, community revitalization
organization for the City of Lancaster, Pennsylvania. Our
mission calls for "a sustained, comprehensive effort to achieve:
community consensus; proactive initiatives for significant
improvement; broad-based volunteer participation; and positive
public image building for the city and community of Lancaster."
The Campaign promotes a
ten-point vision for Lancaster City.
This vision was created through a series of "visioning sessions"
that involved over 100 residents, community and civic leaders.
The work is accomplished through action groups made up of
volunteers to address each of the vision points. The Campaign
currently has three active groups: Economic Development Action
Group, Destination Downtown!, and Children & Education. Destination Downtown's!
full focus is now on the
LancasterARTS
initative and the Children & Education is focused on
The Lancaster Book Challenge and
Safe Passage. In addition to
these action groups, we also staff several ad hoc committees
and task forces. The latter are typically more narrowly focused
and short term. The Lancaster Campaign is a 501 (c)(3) organization.
