Every
year, people roam stores seeking that "perfect"
birthday, holiday, or other special occasion gift
for their loved one, friend, or co-worker. In
many instances, finding a useful and meaningful gift for
a co-worker or friend is a challenging task. Sometimes
our gift-giving desire leads us to purchase useless and
impractical gifts.
The
Book Challenge has established a Gift Giving Program that
offers individuals an opportunity to donate a specific amount
of money that would cover the purchase of one hardback library
bound book for an elementary school within the School District
of Lancaster. For a $20.00 donation, you can honor a relative,
friend, customer, or colleague by purchasing a book for
one of the elementary school libraries. The gift recipient
will receive a special card indicating that you have donated
a book to one of the District's elemntary school to celebrate
the occasion and that a special bookplate honoring them
will be placed in the book for all the students to see.
You may deliver the gift card to the honoree in person
or have The Book Challenge send it out on your behalf.
