The planning, designing, and fundraising for Lancaster City's Pedestrian Wayfinding System is underway. This signage system will direct pedestrians visiting Lancaster City to our growing list of attractions. The goals of the Pedestrian Wayfinding System are:

• To improve access, identification, and connectivity to the defined five areas in the City of Lancaster and the destinations within them through color designation
• To direct visitors to downtown destinations, encouraging them to explore the city, making their experiences more fulfilling and memorable
• To increase the amount of pedestrian traffic, leading to a stronger sense of safety, greater opportunities for social contact and interaction, and capturing a greater share of tourist dollars
• To establish a system that can be updated and vandal-resistant
