Safe Passage

Lancaster Safe Passage is a new organization dedicated to helping children travel to and from school safely. The program is a collaborative effort between The School District of Lancaster, The Lancaster City Police Department, Lancaster Community Safety Coalition, and The Lancaster Campaign.  Click here for a PDF form explaining the program and how you can help make this program a success.

 

Book Challenge

  • Read with children
  • in the schools
  • in a daycare center
  • in your neighborhood
  • through community recreation center
  • through the HOSTS program, a national reading mentor system in the elementary schools in the School District of Lancaster
  • and read at home, of course!
Keep Lancaster Beautiful
  • Participate in an upcoming community project
  • Pull your neighborhood together for a litter sweep

Neighborhood Initiatives

  • Plan a block party for your neighborhood
  • Hold regularly scheduled "broom" days within your neighborhood
  • Be a good neighbor


Book Challenge

  • Give recommended books to Lancaster Day Care, Community Action Program, Boys/Girls Clubs, and other preschool and childcare centers.  Donate monetary contributions to The Lancaster Campaign to be used to buy library quality bound books for the 13 elementary schools in the School District of Lancaster.

       It is never too early to teach

      the love of  reading to children.

Kids love to read.  These books were purchased with funds donated to The Book Challenge.  All funds contributed are used 100% for the purchase of books.

 

Keep Lancaster Beautiful

  • Donate garbage bags, rubber/latex gloves, lawn tools (good condition)
